Tell us a little bit about the history of Nurses First Solutions. What should the general public and the healthcare community know?

The hatching of the Nurses First Solutions happened over brunch between our founders, Richard and Alvin. Richard had just gotten off his latest travel assignment as an ER RN. Richard confided in his friend about the lack of relationships between recruiter and nurses in the industry and how many of the agencies then had no actual knowledge of what went on during a nursing shift. When they had uncovered what was truly missing in the business industry, they knew they had caught onto something great and had to act!

It’s not just a career, it’s a calling.

Please describe the leadership team, their goals, and the overall culture over at Nurses First Solutions?

Our owners and founders, Richard, Alvin, and Ronnie, all want to improve the nursing industry first- starting with our small agency where the nurses are put first- before anything else.

As our Clinical Director of Operations, Rich, oversees day to day activities to make sure that our team and the nurses we work with uphold our vision of growth, transparency, and innovation. Every leadership member of NFS was chosen because they truly embodied all that NFS is and wants to be.

Who should be utilizing Nurses First Solutions? What specialties, positions, jobs, etc., do you specialize in?

While we specialize in the placement of Registered Nurses we also place other healthcare professionals such as Medical Assistants, CNAs, Surg Techs, etc. We have jobs ranging from Home Health and Clinics to Hospitals with over 1,700 beds throughout the US.

How is Nurses First Solutions unique in the healthcare space? Why should clinicians choose to work with you over someone else?

When NFS was established we were one of the only agencies to offer health benefits, 401k, and PTO. Now there are quite a few competitors offering similar packages, however, no other agency was built by nurses and has a clinical director available 7 days a week. We also like to think our team itself makes us unique, we are all determined to help each and every clinician on a personal level to help them achieve their goals. No one is a number here, and every person’s dream matter.

What are the goals for Nurses First Solutions in 2022-2023? How are you improving for clinicians and for your internal team?

We want GROWTH!

We want nurses to know they don’t have to choose a huge travel agency just because they are well known, because bigger isn’t always better. One way we are trying to get our name out to nurses is through our social media. While many of our posts are fun photos from nurse travel submissions and humorous reels- we also discuss some of the hardships of nursing and the struggles of traveling which many agencies don’t want to talk about or don’t know about because they don’t have that experience like we do.

We also brought ourselves to mobile devices! We launched an app so you can get your application done faster & land the job you want as soon as it comes available. Internally, we’ve added more Junior Recruiters to assist nurses with 24/7 communications and have also been working on finding new partners in locations most requested by the healthcare professionals we work with. Not to mention partnering with platforms that put us in front of nurses such as Wanderly!

Travel clinicians are essential to our day to day. They are our whole business, without them we are not Nurses First Solutions. That is why they are as much a part of our lives as we are in theirs.
