As a new travel nurse, Katie Moore is already finishing her second contract this May and having the time of her life. We got to hear a little about her journey and thought all you new travel nurses would also enjoy her story too.
“I am new to traveling, I took my first travel assignment in October of 2017 in San Angelo, TX and renewed my contract in January. In the first week of May, my second contract will be completed and I don’t know where I will go to next! I’m from Oklahoma and I’m getting married in September of this year at the Tatanka Ranch in Stroud OK. So it’ll probably be easier to take my next assignment closer to home.”
Katie’s experience traveling so far…
“I love meeting people and seeing new things, traveling has definitely allowed me to spread my wings and I’m very excited to continue my adventures. The hardest thing about a different hospital is getting out of the mindset that there’s only one way to skin a cat, I’m very structured and stuck in my routine when it comes to my patients – it’s been wonderful getting to grow and learn that just because one hospital did something one way doesn’t mean it’s how the rest of the medical world operates.”
Any other dog lovers out there?! Katie’s one of them!
“Another fun fact is I’m obsessed with my fur babies, two lab mixes Jax and Dozer. They have loved getting to go everywhere with their momma!”
